We met on an ever so romantic kickball field in Walnut Creek. Chris was reffing a game and walked up to Kay and started a conversation. After their conversation, Chris asked Kay for her name one more time and promised to remember it. To Kay's surprise, Chris kept his word and continued to strike up conversations with her any chance he could get. After a few weeks...and after their first kiss (don't judge us, we had chemistry!)... Chris asked Kay on their first official date. The first date consisted of a walk around the Lafayette Reservoir with Chris' dog (Abby), Chipotle, and talking for hours on the couch. At the end of the date Chris asked Kay to be his girlfriend and a few weeks later Kay wrote her response to Chris' question on a napkin that simply said, "yes". The rest is history.

When we got together we were both surprised that we attended the same college at the same time. Although we did not know one another while attending college, Chico State University holds a very special place in each of our hearts. We decided to celebrate the last weekend of summer before Kay went back to work and what better place to get away to than the sweet town of Chico. We drove up on a Friday and decided to go out for a traditional night out on the town. A few drinks turned into many and needless to say, we CANNOT party like we use to. The next morning was rough to say the least so our morning hike in upper Bidwell park quickly turned into a late afternoon hike. We ended up hiking to Browns Hole and had the gorgeous swimming hole all to ourselves. As we started to pack up Chris got down on one knee and with a huge smile on her face, Kay replied "Yes!"
