We met at our student ministry during college. I (Kay) thought Camdon was kind of a nerd because the first thing he did when we started talking was send me a picture of his Lego Darth Vader and Yoda clocks. From that point on I realized he was the sweetest man I have ever met and that we have a lot in common. We were inseparable after that! I asked Camdon out and planned the first date maybe a week after formerly talking. I took him to an escape room, then out to a steakhouse, then to a park where we built a fire, and finally to Walmart where we got discount Valentine’s Day chocolate. His car ended up breaking down during the date so I had to jump his car because he didn’t carry jumper cables with him at the time! After our first date, he planned most of the rest. We said our first “I love you’s” at my parent’s farmhouse under the stars with a campfire and crickets chirping in the background; four years later he proposed to me in the same way.
