Our First Date

April 1, 2023

We met in the training pipeline while both serving in the United States Marine Corps. We knew each other, but never got connected until around one year later, when we both found out we were stationed together in Southern San Diego. In the months leading up to Bryan's arrival, we connected beautifully through just our words, and by the time he arrived in late March, we both knew our future together would be full of blessings. We went out a few times that week, and we both dreaded the end of each date! Getting to know each other was a breath of fresh air. We knew we had found security and love with each other. On April 1, 2023, Bryan made use of the small space he had, and after a beautiful date full of conversation, he brought me to his space where there was flowers, coffee, candy, and the question I was dying to hear.. Will you be my girlfriend? And shoot... now we're getting married. I'll save that story for another time :)

How We Found Our Church

We love New Song!

We were both raised in the faith, but eventually between our careers and life, we fell into a lukewarm lifestyle. With Easter approaching, Bryan brought up the idea that we attend Easter service. I begin researching churches in the local area, and found one I thought would be perfect for us. We attended on Easter, and we loved going to church, but after attending twice, decided that particular church wasn't for us. After another long deep dive on the internet reading mission statements and about tabs on church websites, I found two local churches that seemed to fit our needs perfectly. I decided on one of them, but on the morning of, I was groggy and not used to waking up early on a weekend. By the grace of God, I clicked on the church that seemed great but we had just decided not to attend, and that church was New Song Community Church. We felt welcomed, loved, and accepted. The next week we went back and we were both remembered by name. The community there wanted to get to know us. After finding our way back and getting ON FIRE for the Lord, we both began serving the youth together, and that has strengthened our relationship towards God in ways neither of us saw coming.

Married! đź’Ť

5.25.24

We decided to get married before the wedding, and we did! We got married on Oceanside beach, surrounded by friends that love us. It was pretty awesome! A snack cart rolled behind us unapologetically right as we were about to say our vows! It was a lighthearted and fun wedding! We can’t wait to do it again!
