Feel free to wear whatever attire makes you feel the most comfortable. Indian Attire for Women: Lehenga: A long, flowing skirt paired with a blouse (often called a “choli”). Salwar/Anarkali Suit: A stylish outfit that consists of a medium or long dress paired with loose trousers or leggings for comfort. Sari: A 6-yard piece of fabric draped around the body, usually worn with a fitted blouse/choli. It can be tricky to wear if you’re unfamiliar with it, but don’t worry—we’re happy to assist you if you need help! ***Ladies, please note that the wedding ceremony will take place outdoors on lawn -- stilettos may not be the best option :). Indian Attire for Men: Kurta Set & Vest: The classic Indian outfit for men. The kurta is a knee-length tunic shirt, often paired with slim pants. For an elevated look, add a vest or “koti” (or a “Nehru” jacket) on top. Jodhpuri or Bandhgala Suit: A sharp, closed-neck suit that can also come as just a jacket. If so, you can pair it with slacks for a polished look. Sherwani: For a more sophisticated, elegant look, this long-sleeve coat with intricate embroidery is buttoned up to the neck and paired with slim pants.
The wedding ceremony will take place outdoors on lawn (please keep this in mind when deciding on footwear!). The sangeet and reception will be indoors. :)
