Matt and I connected via Hinge when he moved up to San Francisco in the fall of 2022. I was living and working in Palo Alto and offered to meet Matt in SF for dinner. Matt declined like the nice guy he is and told me he'd meet me after work in Palo Alto to make it convenient for me. That poor, poor man had no idea I was 40 miles south, with commuter traffic, and this first date would be a city walk, bus, and train ride away. But he showed up with a smile on his face and made a great first impression. We even extended the date to the wine bar across the street. I was on cloud 9 thinking this was an awesome first date. Well that was until at the end of the night, Matt did not walk me to my car and practically ran the other way toward the train tracks. I was shocked. I got in my car and told myself I would go on another date with this guy just to tell him off! What kind of gentleman doesn't walk a woman to their car??? A man who extended his night to just barely catch the last train back into the city... that's who! Classic. Anyway... he always walks me to my car now. And I guess he'll do that forever. Lucky gal.
