Jourdan and Kavan met on a spring day in the heart of Harlem NYC. They were both volunteers at their local church (shoutout Trinity Harlem!) attending the church's second anniversary party at their pastor's house. After spending time mingling, they both happened to be leaving at the same time when a mutual friend introduced them. Kavan showed Jourdan an app he was building, she was impressed. Jourdan gave Kavan all the details on her favorite spots to eat in Harlem. He was intrigued. There was only one thing left to do...get the digits. Kavan asked and the two began communicating and getting to know one another until their very first date. If you let Kavan tell the story, Jourdan was late for the first date. If Jourdan tells it, she was appropriately tardy and didn't want to be the first to arrive. After great conversation, pasta, and a glass of wine or two, they headed for a nightcap at another restaurant to continue the conversation. As they learned of all the things they had in common, their strong relationship with God, and the convenience of living 10 blocks away from one another...a second date was a no-brainer. Two and a half years later, hundreds of dates, numerous trips around the country, and countless memories, it's no surprise that you're reading our wedding story.
