A Perfect Match

January 27, 2015

David's side of the story: It was a fine afternoon at Starbucks and I had a date with a Lady. We got fancy coffee’s and spoke about what we did for a living and what we enjoyed. I talked about the Fixtures, Components and CAR’S I worked on and she talked about the racehorses, EMASCULATORS and where she went to College. I probably bored her (She won’t admit it) but I didn’t scare her off as she seemed interested and understood. Fortunately for me…. she grew up with Brothers and had a dad who was an Engineer so Physics and how “stuff” worked or how to fix it before the parents got home was in her blood. Now go see her Story….it fills in the rest of how we meet and how my dog “Approved." Jamie's side of the story: I don't remember who "winked" at whom first on Match.com, but I do remember reading through his profile and seeing pictures of Sam his dog. We messaged for a couple days and then decided that it's easier to get to know each other in person. It was a Tuesday night and I was on call. We met at the Starbucks in Twinsburg and it was easy conversation from the start. I loved how excited he got talking about his work, creating and designing water tanks for Boeing airplanes. I got a page half way through our frappacino and mocha. Luckily it was just an appointment message and we decided to continue the night with dinner. We went to Rav's Creekside Tap & Grill which was less than a mile down the road. I said we should just drive together and hopped right up in his Ford F250. He asked me if I was sure and about that and I was like yeah, it's just down the road. Looking back, that may have been a risky choice with a guy I just met, but I'm glad I did it. Dinner went well, and the night was still young, so we went (in our own vehicles) back to his apartment to meet Sam. Sam could feel the instant connection and didn't leave his blanket alone the whole night (his Red Sox blanket is the only thing he humps). We had our first kiss that night and the rest is history. <3

Riders ready... Watch the gate...

June 23, 2018

David asked Jamie to marry him on the starting gate at the Akron BMX track. Jamie was so focused on the Old Fools/Lady Fools flat pedal race that she didn't see it coming. Keith Miller (Announcer and Officiant for the upcoming ceremony) was announcing names for the first race including Jamie, then he said that someone was missing some equipment on the starting gate. Jamie looked down around at her bike as she saw David walking up the starting hill. Everything appeared normal, then David got down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me?" Jamie obviously said "YES" and went on to complete her race lap, ring on her left hand and smile on her face.
