The proposal: While in Mexico in March 2022, Phil and Katy Joe rented an airbnb with a rooftop pool and a view of the ocean in the town of Puerto Morelos. Unbeknownst to Katy Joe, Phil had been carrying a ring with him in his backpack throughout their travels, bringing it to four nights of concerts in the Riviera Maya, nervously watching it be tossed into the backs of taxis and bottoms of public buses on their way from town to town, and double-checking it was still safe every time they unpacked. When they finally arrived at their final destination of the trip, Katy Joe decided to take a yoga class at a local rooftop studio, which was supposed to end shortly before sunset. Seeing this as the perfect opportunity for his plan, when Katy Joe went to class, Phil got ready with a bottle of wine, hoping for the perfect sunset proposal with the ocean in view. However, the class ran much longer than either had anticipated, so Phil watched the yogis nervously from the other rooftop as the class dragged on and the sunset started to wane. By the time Katy Joe got back, the sun was almost down, so the two ran up to the rooftop pool to catch the last few moments of it. As soon as they arrived, Phil dropped down to one knee and popped the question to a very sweaty, dirty, and surprised yogi. Under a new moon, the two decided to start another new journey together.
