We met on a dating app called Hinge. Tom's profile said he was looking for someone who was up for vacations to northern Michigan and being a co-pilot/DJ during roadtrips and my intro line was, "Hi :)". Our first date was at PF Chang's in Troy. We were there until it was closing and still talked in the car after until the mall cop told us we needed to leave. I texted two of my best friends immediately after the date and said, "I think I just met my husband."

We went to Florida to celebrate Tom's 30th birthday. He has always wanted to rent a Lamborghini, so he decided to treat himself. We went to Florida with our friends Jenna and Anthony. Tom had been secretly planning a beach proposal. The beach we had visited early in the day on Saturday was very crowded, so Tom took a gamble on the beach at the resort he had made dinner reservations at. We all got dressed up for dinner and Tom asked to take some photos on the beach. His gamble paid off, the beach was empty with a beautiful cotton candy sky behind it. As we took the photos, he got down on one knee and said, "Katy, you are the best thing that's ever happened to me. Will you be my adventure partner for life?" and I said, "yes!" Tom said being able to drive a Lamborghini and get engaged was the best day of his life.
