We’re getting married!

We met while working at Nordstrom, where we both still work today! We had worked in the same store for a year and a half and never met, before being introduced in an Assistant Manager's Meeting one Friday afternoon. After that meeting, Marvin bought me a coffee, I gave him my number, and the rest is history!

Marvin and I have an appreciation for delicious food and drinks, and living in Houston we definitely take advantage of all the city has to offer! On special occasions, we love trying out new Steakhouses. We had previously tried Steak 48, Flemings, and Trulucks, so when Marvin made reservations for us at Mastro's I was really excited! The food was amazing, but I could tell something was up with Marvin by the end of our meal. We got the check, and practically ran out to the car (I hadn't even finished my wine! lol). The whole drive home, Marvin started a playlist of all of our favorite songs. When we got home, he suggested we go up to the Sky Lounge of our apartment building. We had just moved in the month before, and one of our favorite amenities was relaxing on the rooftop there. When we got outside, there was already a fire going, as well as a pathway of rose petals ending in a large heart made up of more petals. There were candles and balloons and it was a beautiful night! Marvin got down on one knee, and read me a poem that he had written for me early on in our relationship. He asked me to be his wife, and of course I said yes! After that, I was surprised to see that he had arranged for both of our families to be there, and we celebrated all night that night and have continued to celebrate each other every day after.
