It all started back when we met in December 2018. Katy was in her junior year and Jay was in his sophomore year at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. We were both a part of Greek life in college (Alpha Phi + Sigma Chi) and a mutual friend, Emily Olson (Katy’s bridesmaid), paired us up to attend the sorority fall formal together. Depending on who you ask, you’ll hear a different version of how we were sold on each other, but you’ll have to ask Emily about that one! Nonetheless, from that night on, the rest is history. We have been together ever since that December 7th night. Over the next few years, we finished college side by side, spent time with each other’s families, attended concerts throughout Minneapolis (we have seen 45+ artists), and started our careers with a shared future in mind. We traveled at every opportunity and have been lucky enough to explore seven National Parks, numerous trips up the MN North Shore, Iceland, and many states throughout the last (almost) seven years. We plan to continue our travels for our honeymoon in Europe next May! Looking back at some defining milestones – we moved into our first place together in February 2022 right along one of our favorite areas in the city, Saint Anthony Main and the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis. It didn’t take us long to become parents to our first fur baby, Ivy, our now 3.5 year old Ragdoll cat. In April 2023, we packed up and spent two months in Colorado with two of our best friends Trey and Jack (Jay’s Best Men). We were able to spend every weekend exploring and hiking throughout the state. While we loved Colorado, it reaffirmed that Minnesota was where we wanted to be thanks to the family and friends who make it our home. With that, we moved into our second apartment together in St. Louis Park, MN in June 2023. Following a similar trend to before, we quickly added another fur baby to the family, Willow, our second Ragdoll cat. At the start of 2024 we began our search to purchase our first home. We fell in love with our 1950’s rambler in Edina, MN and closed on the home in July 2024. Since then, thanks to the help of both the Sullivan and Bouchier families, we have spent many days and weekends making the house our home. In October 2024, Jay proposed to Katy along Saint Anthony Main, right by our first apartment. It was a special day, kept private to just the two of us. We have loved each moment we have spent together building our future one day at a time. We are soaking in this current season of life and dreaming of what is to come next.
