Katy and Jacob’s journey began in 2019 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. They met on a Thursday night at Rockfire, a karaoke bar in Isla Vista. Surrounded by friends, Jacob asked Katy to join him in singing "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz, a simple moment that would mark the beginning of something special. As they spent more time together, they discovered a sweet coincidence—they had grown up just a few miles apart, with Jacob in Calabasas and Katy in Agoura Hills. Together, they’ve created a lifetime of memories—from their college days at UCSB and adventures across the world, to building loving relationships with each other’s families. Along the way, they got a dog named Hazy and bought their first home in Torrance. Now, they’re celebrating the most meaningful chapter of all—their wedding—surrounded by those they love, ready to start a new chapter as partners for life.

In May of 2024, the couple and their best friends traveled to Oahu, Hawaii - where Katy's grandparents reside. On their second night of vacation, they all got dressed up to walk around Waikiki and dine at a new restaurant The Hau Tree. Approaching the restaurant, the group stopped at a scenic landscape looking over the pacific ocean during a beautiful golden sunset. Jacob got down on one knee and asked Katy to marry him. She said yes! They celebrated their engagement for the next 10 days in Hawaii going to the beach, eating poke, hiking and spending time with friends and family. Now they are planning their dream wedding and can't wait to celebrate with all of you!

They’re getting married at Malibou Lake—a place that has shaped who Katy is in so many ways. Her family moved here in 2000, and from that moment, this beautiful lake became her playground. She spent her childhood rope swinging, paddle boarding, fishing, hiking, and making memories that will stay with her forever. This venue is a part of her heart, her history, and now, her future. She’s forever grateful to have grown up in such a magical place, and is so excited to share this special day with all of you, as they start a new chapter together.
