Peaks Island
An easy 20 minutes from the port in downtown Portland. You can rent bikes, walk around, pop into a few small shops, and enjoy island life! Ferries go almost every hour so you can make it a few-hour trip or an entire day. It is the busiest island so if you want to escape the crowds ask us for other recommendations!
Fort Williams Park
This is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world! You do have to pay for parking here, it's $2.50 an hour.
Eastern Promenade
There is a trail around the bay here as well as lots of food trucks and lots of space to lay out and enjoy the view!
Mackworth Island
Mackworth Island is a great place for a walk. It's 1.25 miles around and there's a small beach where you can relax or take a dip if you're brave enough to bare the cold!
Crescent Beach
This is one of the great beaches around Portland, just 5 minutes from where Katy grew up. They do not allow dogs in the summer months.
Portland Paddle
Get out on the water right off the Eastern Prom. Both sea kayaking & paddle boarding are offered. We recommend making a reservation if you are interested, Portland in the summer gets a little crazy!
Flatbread Company
A great place on the wharf for delicious pizza and a laidback atmosphere. They don't take reservations so plan on a 1+ hour wait. It's a great spot to go down early, put your name in, and walk along the water.
The Honey Paw
Another amazing spot for Asian-inspired noodles & other bites with local craft beer! This is one of our favorite spots to eat. They currently don't take reservations so anticipate a 1+ hour wait.
Evo Kitchen + Bar
This restaurant is where we went for Cullen's birthday and he hasn't stopped talking about the amazing carrot cake since! They serve local food prepared using Eastern Mediterranean flavors. They do take reservations and we recommend booking it now if you want to go!
Scales
Delicious, upscale, seafood restaurant on the harbor. They do take reservations and highly recommend making one sooner rather than later if you'd like to go!
The Front Room
The front room is a great place for brunch! They do not take reservations for brunch and you can expect a 1+ hour wait, so get there early, put your name in, and go for a walk or relax along the Eastern Prom!
Belleville
Our favorite bakery in our neighborhood. Currently, you can order online the night before or stand in line and get delicious baked goods. There is limited seating, so it's best to take it to go.
