We swiped right! Brad and I met on Tinder; he started the conversation with a cheesy pick up line and I didn't roll my eyes too hard. Our first date was supposed to be for drinks but I was late because of work so we ended up ordering dinner. We both were stuck between the same two sandwiches. We went halfsies on them, and have been going halfsies on sandwiches over never ending banter and beer ever since.
Brad and I went to Vieques, Puerto Rico in December 2019 for a "do nothing but sit with our toes in the sand" vacation. Little did I know the 2 weeks before at Thanksgiving he asked my parents permission to marry me. If anyone knows Brad, they know he can't keep a secret. So I was very impressed he was able to make it to 3 days into vacation before popping the question! Our original plan was to be sailing, but the Atlantic ocean had other plans. We spent the day just the two of us, lounging on the beach and that night Brad asked to go out for a sunset viewing and nice dinner (no clue at this point). We drank our rum juice boxes, watched the sunset and Brad asked upwards of 10 times what I was thinking (now I am suspicious). As we walked back to the car to go to dinner, he got down on one knee on a beautiful white sand beach and I, in typical Katy fashion said "No way!, Of course, yes! but no way!"
