The church ceremony will start right on time given strict church rules; please arrive early due to parking! Parking is available at the upper car park of Bom Jesus do Monte for a small fee of about €1- €2 (we believe, so have it in cash!). Arrive with time to find parking just because this church is a major UNESCO World Heritage site so you may find yourself competing for parking with tourists. Parking Options: 1- Upper Parking Lot (Closest) 2- Lower Parking (at the foot of the mount): larger parking area at the bottom of mountain. While this guarantees a spot, you will need to walk up 500 steps OR take the funicular up to the church (takes roughly 3 mins and approx. 1.50 euros for a one way ticket). We cannot stress enough to arrive 30 minutes ahead of time due to parking! Carpooling and/or ubering if you can is suggested.
