About Huron Substation

Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #404
Built in 1906, this cultural monument housed equipment to convert high-voltage alternating current supplied by the Edison company to the 600 volts direct current used by the Los Angeles Railway Yellow Cars.
After the Los Angeles streetcar system was abandoned in the 1960’s, the substation took on a series of industrial uses, including a welding shop, a manufacturing plant, an event space, and a filming location.
