Wedding Party

Kelly

Maid of Honor

Katy was roped into making me her MOH the moment I was born. Being the younger sister, I've always followed her around, stolen her clothes, and ignored her great advice. It's time I return the favor and act like the responsible adult she raised me to be as her MOH. Alex and I have been close friends since high school. He's been coming to family events for years, but who knew he was after my sister the whole time! Katy and Alex are two people who I hold very close to my heart. I'm excited to celebrate their relationship, and take full credit for it! I brought them together - You're welcome!

Sean

Best Man

It’s hard to remember exactly how you first meet someone when your brain had only just finished doing a majority of its growing when you met. Even if you know the when (Ms. Hamilton’s 1st Grade Target Class, circa 2002-2003), the particulars are still a bit fuzzy. But then you get to be a bit older, and you start making the great memories. Whether it was staying up way later than we should have playing video games in Chris’ basement and waking up his dad when we were nine, or it was getting my Jeep stuck in mud with Pierre riding in the back somewhere we may or may not have been allowed to be at an undisclosed age. Whether it was crashing in your dorm room for many a music festival, or it was staying up way later than we should have playing video games the other week when we were twenty-six. Growing up has been quite the ride, and I don’t think I could have picked better people to do it with. Writing this up and fully realizing it’s been twenty years is even more of a trip. It makes you appreciate old friends that much more. Above all, I cannot tell you enough how thankful I am for getting to be a part of one of the best memories of your entire life. And even more so, I cannot tell you enough how excited I am to see you find someone so amazing to make many more memories with. Love ya, brotha! (Is Katy grading this? Where’s the rubric? When will grades be posted? Will you put this on the website or edit it out? Time will tell!)

Sarah

Bridesmaid

When Alex, my brother, first introduced me to Katy I was so excited that he had found someone so kind, passionate, and brilliantly matched to him. Katy quickly became a beloved member of our family and a true friend of mine. Alex is great, but I’m so excited to have the sister I’ve always wanted and for many more days spent over craft beers and cocktails.

Pierre

Groomsman

I've had the pleasure of knowing Alex since we sat on the bleachers of the KMHS track a few days before our freshman year started, Listening to Coach Schaeffer and getting ready for what would turn into 4 years of cross country and the start of an amazing friendship. Since then, we've travelled, ran, and hiked across the country, from Cumberland Island (twice) to Utah, from Florida to Wyoming. We've been College roomates, lived in the same neighborhood, and he's served me fair share of beers at the local watering hole. The last 12 years have been all the better for knowing him, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate Alex and Katy as they take their next big step together.

Lauren

Bridesmaid

Katy and I met at Auburn through the band and our sorority, Tau Beta Sigma. Guess you could say I’m the sorority sister to round out the sister bridesmaids. Whether it be study sessions in RBD, late nights at 1716, or sassy commentary in the back of the chapter room, we built an amazing friendship. Fast forward to growing up and moving to Atlanta for big girl jobs where things have shifted to brewery weekends, girl trips, and plenty of trivia wins (still with all the sassy commentary). During the last 5 years in Atlanta and so many life changes for both us, Katy has truly become so much more than just a sorority sister, but one of the best friends and sisters I could ever ask for. Katy, I am so honored to stand by you as you marry Alex. I love you both so much!

Chris

Groomsman

Alex and I met years ago in elementary school and bonded over interest in video games and fantasy novels. We spent many years taking trips, going to church, having sleepovers, doing summer swim team, and a lot of general tomfoolery. He’s someone I’ve known a long time and I consider a brother. I’m glad he found his other half. From the very first time I met Katy, she has always greeted me with a bright smile and open arms and has always made me feel welcome. She’s warm, caring, funny and has been someone I can be myself around. I love you both dearly and can’t wait to see where your adventure takes you.

Michael

Officiant

Katy made a mistake along time ago and told me I was creative and ever since I've never shut up. So naturally when she needed someone to say fun words she called on me. And after years of practice yelling at each other and for each other I hope my eloquence is up to the task. If not you can blame my weirdness of her too, I learned from the best. Alex and I were in highschool together although I never knew him well till he started dating Katy. Some dude from Kennesaw made me a little nervous but we bonded over dumb history and having particularly strong options on empires, kings and class struggle. Editors note: we have been promised a conclusion but are unsure that day will ever come. Love you Michael! :)
