Greetings family and friends; we hope our update finds you well! Due to the virus preventing Joel from having vacation days and requiring him to quarantine if exposed to COVID-19, we decided to get married Saturday April 18th in a small backyard ceremony at the home of Joel’s grandfather. It rained, it poured, most everyone got drenched, but we are now happily married! We recorded the ceremony on Facebook live; it is on Katrina’s page, and we would love for you to watch it! Going forward, we are planning on having a reception in Florida for family and friends to join us when life returns to normal, and we will keep you posted. Thank you for your understanding, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you at a later date!
We met on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel and had our first date at Highlands Hammock State Park. We spent the time talking so much that we didn't even notice a couple hours of walking had gone by. We hit it off and I haven't been able to get him to leave me alone ever since.
He surprised me at my house with a dozen roses and the most beautiful sparkly ring when I was expecting to meet him at his house that day to go on a beach trip for his birthday, and of course I said YES. He then proceeded to convince me to go out to Lake Denton where he had planned a surprise engagement party with my friends, his family and my parents, who flew in from Indiana at his request! It was amazing!
