FAQs

If you have any other questions than what is listed here, please don't hesitate to reach out to Bryan or Katrina!
Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

We are asking that each guest RSVP no later than October 1st so that we may finalize seating, hotels, and transportation.

Question

Why is the ceremony in DC and the reception in Baltimore?

Answer

Saint Sophia holds a special place in Katrina's family. It is the church that both her Greek grandparents and parents were married. Katrina will be the third generation to carry on the tradition. Baltimore has also been home to Bryan and Katrina for more than the last decade and it also holds a special place. We are so happy with how this worked out and are so grateful to everyone for making arrangements to help us celebrate our big day!

Question

Do I need to book my hotel early? And for both Friday and Saturday night?

Answer

We recommend booking your hotel as soon as possible but no later than October 15 to ensure the discounted room rate. We also recommend booking for both Friday 11/25 and Saturday 11/26 to facilitate a smooth transition between the ceremony and reception. An early check in to the hotel is not guaranteed and there will not be enough time between the ceremony and the reception to check in...unless you want to miss out on part of the festivities. Please plan accordingly.

Question

When I go to book my hotel, it does not give me the option of 1 King or 2 Queens - what should I do?

Answer

We have both types of rooms reserved, but it will default to a King room. If you want 2 queens, YOU MUST MAKE THIS NOTE IN THE COMMENTS WHEN RESERVING.

Question

What if the hotel blocks are full?

Answer

We will do our best to add rooms to our hotel blocks to accommodate. Please call Katrina or Bryan if we need to make that happen! Katrina - (410) 340-7378 Bryan - (443) 845-3665

Question

Transportation Details

Answer

Transportation will be provided from the hotel to the church and then to the reception venue on Saturday. But, if you choose to drive there will be ample parking at both Saint Sophia’s in DC and at The Winslow in Baltimore. Parking is NOT available overnight at the Winslow, so please plan accordingly. More details on wedding transportation will be communicated as we get closer to the big day through the website and email.

Question

Hotel Parking

Answer

If you are staying at the Baltimore Waterfront Marriott: - Valet parking is available for $46 - There is a self park garage connected to the hotel that is $26/day. ***However, this is a public garage and you will pay every time you exit and reenter the garage If you are staying at the Courtyard by Marriott: - On site parking is available for $25/day Other options: There are many other garages within blocks of each other in Harbor East. Apps like SpotHero are helpful in getting discounted parking.

Question

Wedding Attire

Answer

Our vision for our big day is more casual than a standard black tie event, and we are therefore recommending cocktail attire. Both the church and the reception venue are indoor, climate controlled spaces.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts promptly at 3pm. We asks guests to arrive between 2:30 and 2:45pm so we can promptly get started and begin celebrations later at 5:30pm. Arrangements have been made to ensure that Katrina will be on time that day :)

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Having our family and friends to celebrate with us is truly the best gift! You will notice that our registry is a mix of traditional and non-traditional. Our vision is to buy our first home together within the next couple of years. We have included some options that will help make that dream happen and fill the future space. We have also included some traditional options as well.

Question

Do I need to get a COVID test before coming?

Answer

We strongly recommend getting a Covid-19 test prior to coming for everyone's safety.

Question

What is the best way to get to Baltimore?

Answer

The closest airport, located about 20 minutes from downtown, is Baltimore Washington International (BWI). Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Ronald Regan Washington National Airport are also options, although a bit farther. If you are coming by train (Amtrak), Penn Station is located right downtown and you can Uber/Lyft to the hotel. There is also a train station at the airport (BWI).
