Our first date was May 05, 2019 at Napa on Providence. This is how we got there: I signed up for a paid subscription to Match, hoping it draws the quality I was looking for. I cant say I’ve ever been good at any of this, and here I was asking the Universe to finally cut me a break. I came across Katrina a couple of weeks in, her pictures attracted my eye, but a particular sentence in her profile stirred something else in me entirely. This one sentence told me a lot about her… a special sense of humor mixed with deliberate seriousness. I couldnt help responding, albeit, with a little dose of snarkyness. To my surprise she wrote back! Now the pressure was on to keep her interested, show her a little of who I am, and hopefully she would STILL be interested in finding out more. Turns out, we texted for a few days, Katrina revealing her intelligence, maturity, and sense of humor. We quickly asked the tough questions, you know, the major ones that test compatibility, and soon had a face-to-face date planned! The funny thing is, I unwittingly scheduled our dinner AND planned to host a small get-together with friends for the Season 8 Game of Thrones Episode Party at my house later that night. Ok, maybe it was a little on purpose. If the date was a bust, I had an out to end it…and if it was a great time, I would leave on a High Note with Katrina yearning for more!
