We met in the most innocent way — as children. From 3rd grade through 6th grade, we walked to school together, side by side, laughing, talking, and building a friendship neither of us knew would one day mean everything. Life felt simple then. We were just two kids sharing sidewalks and school days. Even when we ended up at the same high school, life began to take us in different directions. We grew up. We experienced love, marriage, heartbreak, and the kind of life lessons that only time can teach. We both married other people. We both walked through seasons that shaped us, stretched us, and prepared us — even when we didn’t realize what we were being prepared for. Then, at 45 and 46 years old, God brought us back together. In August 2024, we went on one simple date. Just one. And from that day forward, we have never separated. What felt familiar from childhood suddenly felt destined. The friendship we built as children became the foundation for a love deeper than we ever imagined. Looking back, we see God’s hand in every chapter. The years apart were not wasted — they were strategic. Every joy, every heartbreak, every lesson was shaping us into the man and woman we needed to become for each other. We are each other's true, true love. Not just because of how we make one another feel, but because of how God aligned our paths — twice. We started as childhood friends walking to school.
