Four score and one global pandemic ago, Kate was covering the outdoor business beat at her Denver newspaper, where she met Tony as he was making t-shirts at his ski factory. The t-shirts depicted Cindy Crawford, with the tagline “Après All Day." Kate was not impressed and refused Tony's t-shirt offer. Fast-forward to many many months later, and Kate finally took Tony up on a different offer: aspen-aged Colorado whiskey. They talked the night away, Tony telling Kate about his years as a ski patroller, fly fish guide, and horse wrangler, and Kate telling Tony stories from her reporter days, growing up in Idaho, and love for craft cocktails. Tony skied in jeans the next day, and Kate raised her eyebrows. The next week, Tony changed into "yoga jeans" from his “ski jeans” for his inaugural yoga class. Then came the ‘rona.
