Stephen Barczuk is the son of Matt & Kate Barczuk. Katlyn Nowak is the daughter of Pete & Renee Nowak. They met while playing recreational volleyball at GVSU, and became friends instantly. It stayed this way for a while and on March 23rd 2016, Steve asked Kate to be his girlfriend. He asked her at 2:00 AM after a long study session at the GVSU library. In March of 2018, they got their first pet together Harvey, they couldn't of asked for a more perfect first dog together. In 2019 they started living together with roommates and have ever since. In September 2020 they got their second pet together, Obi. He is a troublemaker but they love him very much. In March 2021, Steve proposed to Kate in downtown Grand Rapids on the blue bridge. Any time they took a walk downtown, they always made sure to walk across it. In June 2021, they bought their first house together in Wyoming Michigan! They are very excited to be homeowners and have been making the house their own. They also picked their wedding venue and date around this time. In August 2021 they got their 3rd pet together, Hotch. They had forgotten how hard it is to raise a puppy, but he has been so worth it. He is wild, but very loving and gets along great with Harvey and Obi! In total the couple has known each other for almost 6 years, have moved 6 times together, have spent many holidays and birthdays together, have gone on many dates, have gotten 3 pets, and fallen more in love every second. They are so excited to start the rest of their lives together surrounded by everyone they love on August 13th, 2022!
