We met through mutual friends originally during Pax South (a gaming convention) in San Antonio. After many attempts of trying to get Kate out of her new-to-Austin shell, Nate would finally ask her to get together to teach her how to play Pathfinder. They started to play Pathfinder online together. Eventually Kate finally asked Nate out on a date to see her favorite movie, the Fifth Element, and they've been together ever since.

In 2023, after being in lock down for so long and dodging the dreaded illness that was Covid, it finally hit Kate. After being separated for 10 days, the actual longest we've ever been physically apart, Kate came screaming out of her quarantine with her Covid free test running to Nate that they could finally be together again. Before she could reach him, Nate got down on one knee and asked "Before we touch each other for the first time in 10 days, I want it to be as fiances. Will you marry me?"

Since story telling brought Nate and Kate together, they want to bring it to the forefront of their day!
