Like the true millennials that they are they met online. Thanks to OkCupid and Katie throwing out all of her dating rules, a simple "Hey" is all it took. Matt picked Katie up for their first date (broken rule!) and serenaded her with the musical stylings of DNCE on the way to their first date. They had some competitive air hockey games at the pinball museum in Asbury Park. After a walk on the beach it all ended with a "we should do this again sometime" and the rest is history.

Matt likes to think that Katie had no idea that a proposal was coming but with a trip to Bethany Beach, on their 5th anniversary, it was a bit of a forgone conclusion. With too many bugs to stop on their picturesque hike, Matt had to resort to plan B. Before leaving for dinner, knowing Katie's parents were waiting for an update, Matt got down on one knee, said something heartfelt (maybe? we don't really remember) and asked Katie to marry him.
