As soon as possible! October is peak foliage season in Vermont and, as a result, attracts a large number of tourists to the area. We expect lodging options to be extremely limited, especially as we get closer to the date of the wedding. Book as soon as you can!
We highly recommend staying at Mountain Top Resort, where the welcome party, ceremony and reception will all be held. It is a beautiful resort, with many activities on site (see Things To Do tab for more information). We have a block for lodge rooms, cabins and guest houses (see Travel & Lodging tab for more information). If you are looking for options beyond Mountain Top Resort, there are many accommodations within a short drive, including Red Clover Inn, The Vermont Inn, Best Western Inn & Suites Rutland-Killington, and Hampton Inn Rutland, among many others.
The only viable way to get to the resort is via car. As with lodging, car rentals will book up early given our peak foliage date, so we recommend securing a car as soon as possible. There are three airport options for our guests flying in. Boston (3 hour drive) is the nearest major airport. Burlington (1.5 hour drive) is the closest, but is a small regional airport with limited flights. Albany (2 hour drive) is another great choice and has more flight options than Burlington.
Yes! Our dress code is cocktail attire. We suggest men wear a suit or dress shirt with a tie and women wear any length dress or dressy separates.
To allow for a relaxed celebration, we kindly request that this be an adults-only event.
Yes! On the formal invitations, there will be space to outline any allergies or dietary restrictions. Our catering team will be adaptable to most needs.
Yes! There is free parking at Mountain Top Resort.
We ask that our guests arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony to allow everyone to find their seats and get settled.
Our ceremony will be held outside (weather dependent...fingers crossed!) so we recommend bringing a jacket. The cocktail hour and reception will be indoors.
