No , unfortunately our budget could not accomdate arranging transportation. The Island House is only 15 minutes from the Charleston peninsula. We encourage our guests to chose a responsible & safe method of transportation. Ubers are available in the area. You may drive and are able to leave your car overnight, until 10am the next morning if needed.
Please arrive no later than 4:45 pm to give yourself plenty of time to get settled before the ceremony begins. We’ll be starting promptly at 5:00 pm. Due to dust concerns involving the unpaved driveway, guests arriving late will be directed to stay at the end of the long driveway to our venue until the ceremony concludes.
Formal Attire is preferred. We’d love for you to look and feel your best! Charleston in October is lovely but can be a bit unpredictable! Expect mild temperatures with highs in the 70s and cooler evenings. Since we’ll be by the water, it can get breezy, so we recommend bringing a sweater or light jacket to stay comfortable. Our event will be outdoors, so come prepared to enjoy the fresh air!
Yes! We’re getting married on a Friday and hope you’ll consider making a weekend out of it. We’ll be hosting an informal welcome celebration on Thursday night at Bodega, and on Saturday, get ready to watch some college football! No pressure to stay for the whole weekend, but we’d love to see you if you can!
Children are welcome at our wedding if they are specifically invited on the invitation. We kindly request that kids enjoy cocktail hour with us and then depart, allowing the adults to celebrate into the evening. Feel free to capture some adorable family photos during the early part of the celebration before the grown-up festivities begin!
