Multnomah Falls
Conveniently located on the drive from Portland to Hood River, Multnomah Falls is well worth the detour! Note that the upper parking lot is eternally packed, but there is a second lot a bit further away that usually has some spots.
Sugarpine Drive-In
Another slight detour from Portland to Hood River (or from Hood River to Portland, why not?), this drive-in restaurant boasts local delicacies and decadent ice cream creations. It is also located on the Sandy River, in case you're feeling up for a post-feast walk.
Mirror Lake Trailhead OR
A beautiful 4.3-mile hike featuring a lake that is somewhat akin to a mirror for Mt. Hood.
Hood River Fruit Loop
The Hood River Valley boasts 32 on-the-farm fruit stands, wineries, breweries, cideries, and fields of flowers. From berry picking to cider tasting, there's an activity for everyone. 🍓
Hood River Train Rides & Excursions
For a great option for those visiting with kiddos, check out Hood River Train Rides & Excursions! The journey will take you to destinations along the Fruit Loop with the added bonus of trainsportation. 🚂

An ideal launch point for paddleboarding and one of the two hubs of Hood River.

If you get donuts in Portland, PLEASE go to Doe Donuts!! 🦌 You will thank me, I promise.
Sellwood - Moreland
If you're spending a little bit of time in Portland proper, Sellwood is our favorite neighborhood. There are so many cute restaurants and shops, and it is right next to a few fabulous parks as well. Let Miranda or Katie know if Sellwood is in your travel plans, and they will be elated to give you the inside scoop! 🍦
North American Bigfoot Center
Now, this destination is not near anything, but for those of you for whom learning is non-negotiable when traveling, this museum is a must-see. Everything you thought you knew about Bigfoot will be fundamentally, irrevocably altered. This experience will challenge and change you. You will experience Bigfoot with all six of your senses. 👣 (Well, I'll be! You made it to the end of the "Things To Do" section! That's quite the accomplishment. Good for you!)
