What the heck do I wear???

Answer

We'll be at a country club, so plan to wear cocktail attire (semi-formal, balancing elegance & comfort). The event will be fully indoors, because Florida is notorious for doing Florida Things™ around this time of year. (For the uninitiated: it starts to get hot and rainy.) But what does that mean? Basically no jeans, t-shirts, or shorts please. Examples of stuff you could wear: dress slacks, dress shirts, fun colorful blouses, skirts, or evening dresses. Finish the look with some fun sneakers!* *Encouraged, but not required. Even the bride is planning to wear fun snazzy sneakers to waltz down the aisle, so make yourself comfortable! That's the top priority.

Looking for inspiration? Here are some things you can do with your sneakers to make them snazzy! Encouraged, but not required. Colorful Shoelaces Solid Colors | Gradients | Neons | Pastels Metallics | Glitter | Sparkles Floral, Geometric, or Abstract Patterns Basically anything funky, snazzy, or spunky. Whether it's purchased or repurposed or painted, the world is your oyster! Not feeling it? Never fear! Wear your comfortable dancing shoes and bring yourself. That's the most important thing. :)

I have dietary restrictions, what's the plan for food?

Answer

There will be 3 main buffet stations: Sliders, Baked Potato Bar, and a Salad Bar. You'll be able to customize your plate to your liking. We'll also have various appetizers and desserts. Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian options will be available. If you have other dietary sensitivities, please let us know on your RSVP.

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

You may choose to Uber or get a rental car. The ceremony and reception are in the same building. Airport to Hotel: ~45-50m driving distance Hotel to Venue: ~30m driving distance

I want some fun facts!

Answer

Certainly! (1) We chose Snazzy Sunset for a few reasons. One, we both really like sunsets and stars and space stuff. Two, Katie couldn't stick with one or two colors, so why not use all of 'em? She is an artist at heart, after all. Three, we both enjoyed the overall palette and decided to run with it. Lastly, the word "snazzy" means stylish and attractive, which aligns with our vision for our special day. Not to mention it rolls off the tongue nicely. (2) We have an 8-person bridal party, 4 on each side. (3) We picked 5pm because we want some fun sunset photos to remember the day. (4) Katie's motto is function over form, and comfort above all. That's why she's gonna wear snazzy sneakers. She wants guests to feel comfortable and welcomed, so everyone's invited to do the same. (5) We started dating January 5th, 2014. Yes, it's been 12 years. We got engaged Thanksgiving 2024. Aaaaaand we're looking forward to celebrating with you on April 11th 2026! (6) The engagement ring is a gift from Katie's paternal grandmother. Katie was in the process of picking something out, when Grandma pulled out a ring from a drawer and said, "I want you to have this." Grandma won it in a raffle a few years into her marriage, and it sat in a drawer ever since. She was close to selling it too, but Katie's aunt convinced her to hold off, only a few weeks before their family visit. It's a precious gift that Katie will cherish forever.
