Georgetown Harborwalk runs the length of most of Front Street and is a fun way to pop into some local shops and restaurants while taking in the view of Georgetown Marina.
Hobcaw Barony is located next door to DeBordieu Colony. It was once the winter retreat of Wall Street financier and presidential advisor Bernard Baruch. Today, visitors can tour the mansion, its 19th century slave village, rice and indigo fields, and the surrounding grounds. There is also an 1,800sq. ft. Discovery Center which offers exhibits on hunting, wildlife and endangered species habitats. -- Tours are available Tuesday through Friday mornings each week.
"Brookgreen Gardens is a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve, located just south of Murrells Inlet, in South Carolina. The 9,100-acre property includes several themed gardens featuring American figurative sculptures, the Lowcountry Zoo, and trails through several ecosystems in nature reserves on the property."
Between The Antlers is a newer restaurant in Georgetown that we haven't been able to check out yet but we have heard GREAT reviews from friends. According to their website, George Washington drank rum there in 1791 when the building was a federal wharf!
Located on Front Street in downtown Georgetown, Big Tuna is a great place to get a group together for casual seafood and beer. There are multiple rooms to sit in and they have outdoor space overlooking the Georgetown Marina. Say hello to their resident parrot when you walk in the front door!
A yummy little place in Pawleys Island to grab lunch or dinner. Has both indoor and outdoor dining. Try the okra pancakes!
