Hinge to Hitched

9-1-2018

This is us... Zack likes to tell it short and sweet. I liked his photo on the dating website "Hinge" we started talking over email. I basically interviewed him from our first date at the coffee shop in Rutland, Vermont. As we sipped on Americanos discussing us...I threw out a few very important questions. Do you want to get married? have kids? “Okay great me too”. After sometime walking around downtown Rutland, a nice "linner" bbq sandwich and a sweet kiss that was a pretty great first date. Flash forward one year later, September 1st 2019| Kennebunkport, Maine. It was 4:30 AM, yes folks that’s right my behind woke up at 4:30am. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I am not a morning person. If you didn’t know that this why we are starting our wedding ceremony at 3:30pm. Back to the story, Zack woke me up and had breakfast all prepared with a nice cup of black coffee. Still wiping the ‘sleep’ from my eyes, he said we are going to watch the sunrise at Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. I showered and got ready for the day ahead. By the time we arrived to the lighthouse the sun was just beginning to kiss the horizon. Zack brought his camera which I didn’t think too much about as he pretty much has it with him wherever he goes. He set up his video recording equipment and asked me to stand out away facing the water to line up the camera (which again we do all the time). He asked me to turn around and when I did, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. He hand carved a beautiful engagement ring box and proposed with his Nana Zoll’s engagement ring. Of course I said YES! Still in shock from the early morning events, we took a nice morning stroll through the local zoo, picked out some saltwater taffy, ate breakfast and woke our parents & friends up out of bed with the great news.
