Things To Do

Start at the Arch and then walk around North Campus from there. Ring the bell to celebrate or walk down the Million Dollar Staircase. Just a warning: this campus is hilly, so prepare for a workout!

University of Georgia

Lots of great walking trails and beautiful flora and fauna everywhere. There's even a tucked away church on the grounds if you can find it. Great place to get lost.

Botanical Gardens

Golf course is open for anyone who would like to play.

UGA Golf Course

Bears, owls and otters oh my! This park may be a bit small but it's got lots of great nature paths all around. Stop in for the zoo and explore the area after.

Sandy Creek Nature Center

One of Zach and Katie's favorite places to eat in Athens. Tacos are great! Just a warning, this place does require you to pay cash only.

Cali N Tito's

Great southern cooking here! Chicken + waffles, great cocktails and a view of the arch. Nothing better.

The Place

Vegetarian and vegan food found here! If you want something lighter or just need something healthier after all the heavier Southern food, stop by here.

The Grit

Sandwiches here are superb, as are the desserts. This side of town is where a lot of the locals live and there's some great shops nearby like the Avid Bookshop or Atomic vintage clothing store.

Big City Bread Cafe

Our favorite brewery in town, it's located right in the heart of downtown Athens. Their speciality is Athena, a lightly tart wheat beer. They have a great outdoor area where anyone can hang out, kids and dogs are allowed!

Creature Comforts Brewery

Another great brewery in town, this one is slightly off the beaten path but it's well worth the drive over. It has a large outdoor area and a great repertoire of lagers, stouts and IPA's.
