Bardenay is a longstanding Boise restaurant and distillery. Beside Bardenay is the small event space next door to the restaurant. It’s cozy, has cool brick walls and comes with in-house catering and bar. The ceremony and reception are in the same place.
Yep. We chose the venue in part because its location – 620 W Grove St. – is walkable from any downtown hotel and a short drive or Uber ride from a plethora of other hotels and Airbnbs in the area.
Who knows! It could be 70 degrees. It could snow. That’s part of the fun (and why we have an all-inside wedding and reception).
There's no on-site parking. The street parking is metered, so if you want to drive to the wedding, any of the nearby parking garages are good options. The venue is in the heart of downtown. We encourage people to walk if they are nearby or use Uber or another ride share service, especially if you're planning on availing yourself of the open bar.
We didn’t want a formal, plated kind of thing, so we went for a self-serve taco bar with various appetizers, desserts, and of course, cake. The cake was very important to Katie. Be sure to have some. We have some menu flexibility, so please include any dietary preferences or restrictions in your RSVP and we'll make sure you're well fed.
Semi-formal.
No one knows. We’re thinking dressier than jeans, T-shirts and sneakers. Buttons are probably good for men. And pants. I know some of you like an excuse to bust the suit or fancy dress out of the closet, and that’s cool but not expected.
Correct. We have more stuff than space. Your presence means the world to us.
We decided against having a bridal party in efforts to keep this easy for people and to avoid picking between people we care about. However, we DO have a maid of honor and a best man, using the term loosely. Katie’s sister, Liz, will administer support, a beautiful smile and judicious pre-wedding champagne as needed. Zach's sister, Nichole, will class the place up and will keep him on the sidewalk when he sees a butterfly and tries to wander into traffic.
