In Downtown Springfield, you can find all kinds of cute shops and restaurants, like Mudhouse, catch a show at the Springfield Little Theater, or just spend some time relaxing in the Square.
C-Street is a cute little community center where you can find specialty and vintage shops, as well as restaurants like Van Gogh's and That Lebanese Place.
This is our favorite restaurant!! All of the food is absolutely delicious, and you get a lot of food for your value. We recommend the War Fries!
Yes, this is where Katie works, so we're super biased, but there's a reason it's MO's #1 tourist destination! With 12 separate live animal exhibits, 4 free museums, 2 snack stands, and a full-service restaurant, a visit to Bass Pro is sure to be more than a mere shopping trip. Make sure to stop in and say hi to Pancake the softshell turtle and Zeus the 7ft long alligator gar!
This is our favorite little coffee shop, to the point that we visit every Sunday before we head to family day at Andy's sister's place. It has a great cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and they even feature local artists whose artwork you can buy! Both the food and the drinks are delicious, and it's just overall a wonderful experience. Katie's Favorite: Lavender Latte with Oatmilk Andy's Favorite: The Elvis
Andy's is a local favorite and a must-visit while you're in town! Because we met during the lockdown, our first date was drinking milkshakes together over Google Hangouts, and Andy stopped here to grab his! It's hands-down the best ice cream (kinda lol) in town. Be sure to check out their seasonal flavors too! Katie's Favorite: The Original Strawana with chocolate custard Andy's Favorite: The Snowmonster (and what he got on our first date ❤)
This is where we went for our first anniversary! It's a family-owned restaurant and a staple in Springfield!
Okay, we're a little biased. While WoW is owned by Johnny Morris, who also owns Bass Pro, it is honestly an amazing museum and aquarium. From start to finish, it is a mile long, and has all kinds of animals from penguins to bears to sharks to bats, and all kinds of things in between! They also have a newer wildlife photography gallery that is sure not to disappoint.
This is one of the first restaurants Katie found on her own after moving to Springfield, so it holds a special place in her heart. In addition to great food, the owner of Thai Express is an outstanding member of the community who exemplifies everything we love about our home, even going so far as to recommend that people visit their direct competitor who was struggling during the shut down in 2020. We will always point our loved ones in the direction of those who uphold our values and help to make our community thrive.
This is our absolute favorite pizza place!! (Yes, Katie has a favorite pizza place). Whenever we don't feel like cooking or if we just get a craving, this is definitely our go to! Katie's recommendation: The White Pie Andy's recommendation: The Burt Reynolds
This beautiful park has multiple trails of varying difficulty, as well as a small welcoming center with live animals and educational displays. It's also free, so it's a wonderful way to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks.
This is a cute little science center aimed at introducing children to the wonders of science, but we can vouch that it's a lot of fun for adults too! With all kinds of interactive exhibits, it's a great way to spend a little bit of extra time.
