YES, especially coming from SLC as there is construction bringing traffic down to one lane near the mouth and it's expected to be hot in the valley meaning plenty of people will be heading up the canyon and it will take a while to get through (likely multiple cycles of the one-lane traffic light. SO, please plan to leave 20-40 minutes early and if you end up getting to Solitude early there's plenty of beautiful wildflowers to take in before 11 o'clock :)
Utah Reception will be held at the Last Change Lodge at Solitude Mountain Resort. This lodge (and parking for it) are located Entrance 2 (east entrance) further up the canyon than the main moonbeam base area. There is a short trail between the two, but parking is easiest at Entrance 2. You can access Entrance two via big cottonwood canyon road (UT-190) which can be accessed from the Salt Lake Valley or Park City via Guardsmans Pass. We have been assured that there are 50 reserved spots for us at entrance 2 (see parking below)
Follow signs to solitude Entrance 2 (Solitude Village) and there will be 50 reserved parking spots there for our event. You may see many more people parking around and on the road due to the wildflower festival, but don't panic, we've got enough spots for y'all. Then it's just a short walk to last chance lodge!
Probably Yes, as we'll have the bar open with bartenders from 11-3 and will be covering the first portion of alcohol costs but you may need to cover more and later drinks as needed. Thanks for your understanding and responsible drinking up in the canyon at altitude!
Both receptions will provide catered food with a variety of menu options including vegetarian options and will be appropriately labeled. If you have specific concerns around allergies/restrictions please contact us directly and we'll make something work!
