We started out the way all the best relationships do-- as best friends. Trevor showed up to the USS Blue Ridge a few days after Katie did in September 2017, and after two temporary assignments to other ships together, we grew pretty close. Our friend group in Japan was tight-knit, but we were pretty much a package deal. We went on our first date, to an aquarium, in January 2019, and then traveled all around Southeast Asia together. In July 2019, we decided to make it official. Even though the Navy originally assigned us to different locations, the stars aligned and brought Katie to Mayport to be with Trevor on February 13, 2021. 2020 was a tough year, and we had only gotten to see each other twice, so we were excited to finally be in the same location. Despite our busy Navy schedules on two very operational ships, we've had a fantastic time together in the United States, making the most of the time we've had. We got to explore our new city, travel to New York, Atlanta, and Savannah (twice!), and host our first Thanksgiving! On November 20, 2021, Trevor proposed on a trip to Disney-- one of Katie's favorite places. We're excited for this next chapter, and to have you all there with us to celebrate it!
