It saddens us to announce a change in our original plans. Due to the COVID-19 virus, we have chosen to condense the size of the wedding. This was not a decision that we took lightly, as we wanted to keep the safety of our friends and family as top priority. We will still get married on June 12th, but in a private ceremony, with only family and the bridal party. However, we will be live streaming the ceremony so that anyone may watch. Thank you for all your prayers in this challenging time. We trust that God has everything under control.
We met in a field experience education class at Kent State University Stark the fall semester of 2015. I (Katie) had an instant crush on Travis, but of course tried to play it cool. We ended up having three classes together that semester! Three years later, in the spring of 2018, we went on our first official date at the Daily Grind Cafe in New Philadelphia, OH and the rest is history! We owe thanks to our mutual friend Rachel who got us together.
Travis took me to the Norma Johnson Nature Center in Dover to go hiking. After walking around for a bit, he stopped to give me a present. The present was a pretty box with a balloon inside and the balloon had tag that said "pop me". Inside the balloon was a note that said "yes or no". As I turned around, Travis was on one knee with a ring! After the proposal, he surprised me with a sweet dinner with both of our families. We are so excited to celebrate what God has in this next season for us!
