We first met at an informational for freshmen leadership organizations at Texas A&M. I was the representative for FLiC (Freshmen Leaders in Christ) and Trace was an interested prospective freshman. A couple weeks later, Trace not only got into FLiC, but we ended up being in the same committee for a whole year getting to become good friends.
Trace and I really hadn't seen each other for over a year - when out of the blue, he called me to reunite our committee for a night of dinner and dancing. I thought it was really random and a little odd, but I was happy to oblige. After a night of dancing, Trace asked me to get lunch with him to catch up and INSISTED on picking me up. After talking for hours, he asked me on a date, I said yes and haven't stopped smiling since!
In the middle of a worldwide pandemic, I ended up at the Bush School in a dress because of two fake events that Trace sneakily orchestrated. I had NO idea I was getting engaged that day nor did I know Trace was in town. He surprised me at my car, walked me through a path of pictures of us leading to the pond where he had a bouquet of ten red flowers symbolizing the months we had dated and one white flower symbolizing the rest of our lives. Trace gave me the most beautiful ring, and I said YES to forever! He even found a photographer in the middle of COVID-19 who captured the whole day beautifully.
