We met at Hampden-Sydney College during an infamous Sigma Chi tailgate for one of their first football games of the season. He introduced himself and we immediately hit it off. We didn't speak or see each other again until December 7, 2013 when I had returned to HSC with my best friend for a Tacky Sweater Christmas date function. Our chemistry picked up right where it had left off in October and the rest is history.

What was supposed to be a casual light show at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens with Thomas's family, turned out to be one of the most love filled and amazing nights of our lives. We arrived at the Gardens to see the ornate lights and plants. We stopped at a beautifully lit gazebo to take some pictures, he turned to me and said, "You know how I've been complaining about us not spending enough time together lately? I think I found a way to fix it." Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After he proposed, I turned around to see my parents behind us. We continued to walk through the gardens before returning home, where the rest of our closest family and friends were waiting on us to celebrate. We are so excited we get to share this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Wilmington, North Carolina!
