After a serendipitous "swipe right" on Bumble, we chatted on the phone and Steve suggested coming up to Manhattan Beach from Irvine to meet for dinner. I walked up to Zinc and saw a tall, handsome man that I had already nicknamed "Hot Dad Steve" based on his good looks and love of his son, Rylan. We instantly hit it off and laughed so hard our cheeks hurt. Steve is known for his sarcasm and I am always silly. We both left anticipating a next get together.
We woke up on April 23rd planning a nice day at the beach followed by a work commitment I had at Marsel Restaurant at Terranea to do a staff training. Steve suggested that he come along and we get dressed up and go to dinner somewhere nice afterwards. I didn't sense anything weird about that because we share a love of getting all decked out for a night out on the town. I completed the staff training and Steve wanted to walk the grounds of Terranea. It's a beautiful resort nestled on ocean view cliffs in Palos Verdes. Steve had foot surgery about six weeks prior and I was curious why he was so in for a long walk/hike through the property. He said "I'm fine" and that he wanted to keep going. Little did I know he was in excruciating pain but had a sparkly ring in his pocket. We finally found an overlook without a crowd and he grabbed me to take a picture but instead got down on one knee. I was in shock and wasn't expecting to have this moment that everyone talks about. Most of you know my energetic response to things as does Steve, so he was a little concerned I might jump into his arms and we go tumbling off the cliff. Luckily I froze and then started crying.... tears of joy! Now here we are planning the day we've been praying for our whole lives. We can't wait to share our day with you! #werththewait
