Katie and Sean’s relationship started on a snowy New Years’ eve in Denver December 31st, 2021. Katie had just flown into Denver following 7 years living in LA eager to explore the country after COVID altered the city she had called home for so long. After landing amidst a blizzard with her friend Ellie, the two girls joined their friends for a night out which eventually led them to a small apartment New Years’ eve party. Sean, reluctant to leave his apartment given the winter storm conditions outside, was coaxed into attending a coworker’s party and seeing what New Years’ had in store. The party was only a block away and he could always leave early if he did not have fun. He didn’t know at the time but that would be the most important decision he’d ever made. The evening progressed and Katie became Sean’s first (and soon to be forever) New Years’ kiss. THe night ended with Sean being forced to watch Katie and Ellie sing disney songs at the top of their lungs. Katie was clear that she only planned to be in town for a month, but that didn’t deter Sean from seeking additional time together. Fate had it that Katie would love her month in Denver, finding an amazing group of friends. Her and Ellie found an apartment together and decided they would begin to also call the city home. This opened the door for Kaite and Sean to continue building their relationship together. Over the course of the next few years they bonded on their love for dogs (katie’s childhood dog and true soul mate Teddy, and Sean’s unpredictable companion Goomba), their love for travel, and the realization they both challenged each other to be their best selves. Their first trip together was a trip to Taos, NM where they saw ghosts and paddle boarded the Rio Grande and then Sean was fortunate enough to earn an invite on their family trip to Disney World in the fall. He didn’t fail the “meet the family” test (completely) and the two continued to grow as a couple. Over the next three years, Katie and Sean continued to build their love through time with family (Sean, coming from a small family was welcomed with open arms into the large clan of Sneeds in Memphis), traveling the world on trips to Ireland, Italy, Mexico and Spain, and co-parenting Goomba (creature). In November of 2024 on their trip to Spain, Sean proposed and surprised Katie on a Barcelona rooftop. Sean was presented with a job opportunity which would see the couple make the leap to Ann Arbor, Michigan. The couple are now exploring and planning for a life together in Ann Arbor with Goomba after Katie makes the full move from Denver following their marriage in December. The two are excited to join together this December, seeing their friends and family come together to celebrate and forge an eternal bond in the historic city of Memphis.
