We're so excited to celebrate with you!

We first met at New Visions Environmental Course our senior year of high school. It was not love at first sight unfortunately.... it was wow his hair is long but cool name and.... she is kinda weird. As the year progressed I wish we could say we became best fiends and fell deeply in love but that was also not the case. It wasn't until school was coming to an end that we found out we had more in common than the love of the outdoors and I eventually relented and gave him my number believing 100% that I would never hear from him after we graduated and moved on.....10 years later and he still hasn't stopped calling me! Our friendship grew through long texts and shared emails and some meet ups in Cortland for wing nights. We were friends long before our first date. For me at least I was clueless and had zero interest in a boyfriend and yet the poor guy still persisted. Rocco says I defiantly was not an easy catch, more of a hook through the fin and unwillingly dragged in. I am ashamed to say it was not until he tried to kiss me that I finally clued in, dodged, and ran away. He was still there when I finally decided to have the relationship talk. Fortunately for Rocco he worked his way into my life so much in those first 2 years of friendship that I couldn't imagine not having him there, and we became official! Sealed it with a well deserved kiss and a fender bender but that's another story :)

As most of you know we have been together for a long, long time much to the annoyance of our family who already knew we were perfect for each other. But the day finally came and much to my surprise I never saw it coming. I thought there was no way that he would be able to surprise me, every hike, every nice dinner and causal dog walk I was like here it comes and yet he got me. He cheated of course. It was not until the day after we got our new puppy Freyja that a ring made an appearance, when I only had eyes for that sweet puppy face... It was a chilly day on October 18, 2020 but we had some of the most beautiful fall colors and couldn't resist taking the pup for her first hike. We thought the spot by the creek in Morgan Hill State Forest where we took Sitka when she was a puppy would be perfect. Sitka was more than happy to show her new sister the ways of the woods and teach her how to splash through the creek and find the most mud while mom and dad pulled out lunch. Of course Sitka also had to show her what lunch was all about and the bag of treats came out. As Rocco was passing treats to me something else slipped into my hand. Well it was a treat, but not for the dogs. I was speechless and to be honest I don't know what he said after that but at some point he became concerned and asked "so is that a yes"? It was indeed a yes!
