We’re (still) getting married!

Purdue calumet Hammond Indiana, 2013 is where our love story begins. Robert was an ace in courses like accounting, while I excelled in English. By fates choice we were grouped together often for big projects because of our last names, little did we know how much we would learn to depend on each other to succeed- lessons we apply for each other even today! Finally after discovering a mutual love for travel, late night movies and sports, the rest is history! Cliche, but we became College sweet hearts 6 years worth of memories later and we have been on numerous vacations exploring new and fun places, purchased our first home together 1300 miles away in the sunshine state and welcomed two fur babies into our life. A few months ago Rob popped the question and of course I said YES! We can’t wait for this exciting new chapter to begin!

The proposal: Hers: we had been on many vacations together, so if course I was not expecting a proposal! We boarded our cruise ship, and set sail for the biggest adventure to date! However, it didn’t start that way!! After our first day at sea, we noticed something wrong with the engine, nothing to be concerned about per our captain. By the next day we were informed that we were essentially stalled at sea and had to dock in puerto Rico until it could be fixed. On the way in, the ship crashed into the pier and we were on the 6pm news all over the US! The next day we spent an unexpected day touring Puerto Rico, of course I was upset and flustered the entire day, while rob tried making the best of it I continued to be cranky. Little did I know it was suppose to be the day he was looking to propose since our schedule so far had been totally thrown off! Leave it to me to be stubborn- sorry babe! That night was Valentine’s Day! Aka his birthday, we originally had super fancy dinner plans but to follow suite- the ship had lost ALL reservations so we were told to eat dinner in the buffet ... lovely. Perfect. Little did I know- another scrubbed opportunity for him to propose! Fast forward to the last night on the ship! We finally got into our fancy dinner, a few moments later the entire wait staff walked out, set down a plate with a beautifully carved strawberry into a flower and the most gorgeous amazing ring laying next to it! I turned to Rob, who was on his knee, telling me everything I ever wanted to hear, asking the question I always dreamed of hearing from him! I of course said yes, and somewhere out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean I promised my heart to the man of my dreams, the entire Sea couldn’t have contained my love that night. His: I asked her to marry me She said yes
