It was 2017 and Robby had recently moved to Charlotte. He had just been promoted and had begun working in the TTI office. Katie, who was already established in the office, was working to build out a competitive, interoffice kickball team. While scoping out the options, she noticed this cute, athletic guy and he immediately piqued her interest. Katie worked up the courage to go talk to him and approached him about joining the kickball team. Unfortunately, Robby was already committed to multiple other intramural sports teams (of course) and had to decline. Katie walked away disappointed in losing out on a great candidate for the team (and the missed opportunity to get to know this cute guy). Fast forward to a few weeks later, Katie was having a joint birthday party with bridesmaid Shelby, and the doorbell rings. Katie goes to answer it and surprise! Robby is standing at the door. Shelby had invited him as part of her guest list! From then on, Robby and Katie were running in the same social circle. Over the next year, Katie and Robby became really great friends (with constant teasing from their friends on when they would finally start dating.) In April 2018, at a dog park, Robby asked Katie to officially start dating!

It was Cinco de Mayo and Katie's friend (and bridesmaid) Maddy was coming to Charlotte to visit as a late celebration for Katie's birthday. We had tickets for an EDM concert on Saturday. Maddy arrived on Friday afternoon and we had planned to go to our favorite spot "Skiptown", which is a dog park+bar that Katie and Robby love to go to at least once a week with Yeti & Nike. When we all arrived at Skiptown, Maddy went to go find a table, while Katie and Robby grabbed some drinks. Unbeknownst to Katie, Robby had the entire day planned down to a reserved spot at Skiptown, with a professional photographer ready to capture the moment. After about 10 minutes, the moment arrived and Robby got down on one knee to ask Katie the big question. Katie was completely surprised and overjoyed! The surprises weren't done yet though! Robby planned for a big surprise engagement party with all of their friends after Skiptown. They spent the entire night celebrating!
