B L I N D D A T E. Our sweet friends Hollie and Pete Hixson planned the whole set up. They wouldn’t give us a name, photo, or social security number. I asked for all three :) First date was a double date with the Hixson’s in Columbus OH. Dinner, drinks, and bowling. Robbie crushed me in bowling. The following day we hung out THE WHOLE DAY. And by date three Robbie was all in :)
C O L O R A D O. We booked a last minute flight to CO to visit Robbies family who were working at the Cru staff conference. Their family has been working and attending this conference for 35 years. It’s a location full of family memories for the Householders. The first morning there I suggested we go on a hike. We drove to Rocky National Park and landed on hiking to Emerald Lake. We took our time on the hike and took a ton of pictures. Robbies brother, Garett, had just bought a new camera and wanted to document everything. Now is a good time to insert I had NO CLUE the proposal was coming. Robbie was calm and his funny self the entire day. I always assumed he would be nervous and I would know immediately when it was coming. Nope. I was clueless. We get to Emerald lake and Robbie suggested we find a good spot to take a picture which was his plan to get us standing in a pretty place with his brother ready to capture everything. However, I declined the picture. I said we had taken plenty of pictures and I plopped down on a rock. Robbie eventually got me to stand up by convincing me to come look at a fish. There was no fish. My favorite part of the proposal... “ I know you hate the nickname I have for you (it’s pookie and I do indeed hate it) so I have been trying to think of a new one... what do you think about my wife? I said yes and I can’t wait to be Robbies wife and have a NEW nickname! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of life with you! See you in Cincy xo
