We met during a dorm event (Painted Dodgeball). Patrick first saw Katie when she was setting up the event and approached her with one of his friends. Patrick asked what she was setting up and then impressed her with his amazing dodgeball skills. The rest is history.

After seven wonderful years together, Patrick arranged a weekend in Tahoe for them. He planned a sunrise hike, and after gently asking if Katie was sure that she wanted to wear sweats on a hike that he was wearing jeans for... he drove them to a trailhead in Truckee. Along the way, they got a little lost, but they kept running into beautiful spots where Katie would say 'Wow, this would be a nice place to get engaged!' Patrick finally found a spot overlooking Donner Lake, set up his camera to 'capture the sunrise', and dropped to his knee! He started his speech with the classic 'I brought you here for a reason' and Katie said, 'Yes, yes, yes!'
