We're getting married!

Nick and Katie's paths first crossed six years ago in the isles of Nick's father's business. Katie's family strolled in one afternoon, browsing around while Nick tended to his work. After a romantic weekend getaway to Port Townsend, filled with laughter, walks through the historic town, and board games with family, Nick knew it was time to take the next step. The ring burned in his pocket on the ferry ride home, but he wanted to get Katie's parent's blessing before proposing. On the way home, the couple stopped at Katie's parents where Nick managed to sneak in a quick conversation with her dad and mom. When they got back to their apartment, Nick couldn't contain his excitement anymore. While Katie started preparing on dinner, Nick took a deep breath, heart pounding and asked Katie what her favorite part of the weekend was. Suspecting nothing, Katie replied that she enjoyed spending time with Nick and his aunt and uncle. When she asked him what his favorite part of the weekend was he said, "It's happening right now." Confused, Katie turned and watched as Nick knelt on one knee and pulled a small box from his pocket. Realization hit and with tears of joy Katie listened as Nick expressed his love and laid bare his intentions for their future together. In that intimate moment, amidst the warmth of the kitchen and the scent of dinner cooking on the stove, she said yes to him and this new chapter of their journey together.
