Our Story

Nathan and I met in the good, old Hugh Hodgson School of Music. After a year of living in the same dorm building and being in the same major without having a clue of who each other were, we finally had a class together. Critical Issues in Music Education - how romantic. After some studying, dining hall meals, Cane's visits, and concert credits, Nathan decided to make it "official" on our hike to the top of Yonah Mountain (which will be in the background as we say 'I Do')! From then on, we became inseparable. Nathan became friends with my friends, I became friends with Nathan's friends, and along the way, Nathan and I became each other's best friends. We've gone to Cane's more times than I can count (even went on the day he proposed!), performed in concerts together, made a million pots of Mac n Cheese, taken many motorcycle rides, enjoyed a beer or two or several at Slow Pour, graduated college, started our teaching careers, and now starting our lives together. I look back and think of all of our memories together and I feel so blessed that we are getting to make a lifetime of more memories together. Here's to forever with my best friend!

The Proposal

12-18-2021

I proposed to Katherine Ann Schumacher on December 18th, 2021. Earlier that summer, I took the opportunity to ask her father for permission to marry her on the par 3 15th hole at Country Land Golf Course. In the fall, I acquired her beloved grandmother's diamond ring and had it reset into a gorgeous new encrusted band. I knew I wanted her proposal to be a day that she would never forget! To her complete and utter surprise, I got down on one knee in the University of Georgia Founder's Garden in front of a beautiful fountain. The rain showers subsided and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Last Resort Grill in downtown Athens. To finish the night, and with the help of some of our closest friends, I surprised her with an intimate gathering at Slow Pour Brewing. We both had a beautiful time together that day, and I am looking forward to another wonderful time when we tie the knot on October 29th!

For all the days along the way
