After running into closed coffee shop after closed coffee shop, Katie and Lindsey finally landed on a coffee shop in downtown Indianapolis. Upon walking in, Katie met Lindsey at the entrance and quickly let him know that the location was not going to work; the place was too quiet. How awkward to have a first date where everyone can listen to the entire thing? No way!! The coffee date was quickly updated to dinner and they walked around the corner to a burger place. They spent the evening getting to know each other over hamburgers and shared travel experiences. Lindsey and Katie quickly learned that their mutual foundation in faith was the key ingredient for a lifelong love.
Katie and Lindsey went on a trip to Colorado over fall break where they planned to do lots of hiking. Lindsey was adamant about seeing the beautiful aspen trees turning for the season. Unfortunately, due to a drought the leaves were already dead for the season which made for an ugly hike. They quickly found a new hike near Breckenridge which passed by an incredibly meadow with a mountain view. This was the perfect place for Lindsey to pop the question...with an audience of fellow hikers quietly watching. When he shouted out, “She said yes!” the audience of a dozen hikers erupted in cheers and tears. The two of them spent the rest of the trip celebrating their engagement and looking forward to a future together.
