Believe it or not, Kyle and I have known each other since middle school. We actually had crushes on one another. One day, a few of my friends ran up and told me "Kyle Corder is going to ask you to be his girlfriend at recess!" I was one happy 13 year old girl and was counting down the minutes until class is over. I remember this day like it was yesterday, Kyle walked up to me and we were shortly surrounded by a big group of kids waiting in anticipation to see what happens. He says, "Katie will you be my..." Unfortunately, he did not finish his sentence and ran away. He chickened out, but that's okay! Little did I know, that scared little boy running away as fast as he could was going to be my future husband. Kyle and I eventually rekindled our old middle school flame once we were in college. Kyle went to school in Colorado and I went to school in California. I graduated and got a job out in New York City and Kyle was still finishing up his last year of college. After 1.5 years of long distance, Kyle made the move to NYC so we could finally start our lives together. We absolutely love it out here and have made so many amazing memories exploring the east coast together. Kyle and I went on vacation to the Bahamas this summer. On July 3, 2021 he proposed to me with rose pedals and lanterns lit up leading us under a huge palm tree right on the beach. It's so crazy how life works. I remember going on family vacations when I was a kid and taking pictures under that exact palm tree. Who would of ever thought almost 10 years later I would be proposed to under that same beautiful palm tree. Even crazier, to be engaged to my middle school crush who turned out to be the most genuine, loving, and kind-hearted man. The world works in mysterious ways, but I am forever thankful to be marrying the love of my life and my best friend.
